HOW A PROCEDURE TAKES PLACE

The surgical procedure is the most intricate part of the entire treatment cycle that we have to face. To guide you through this journey, we have divided our work into stages:

PRE-OPERATIVE STAGE:
A few days beforehand, we prescribe a course of antibiotics; in the days leading up to the procedure it is best to follow a light diet and to fast on the day of the procedure itself.

INTERVENTION STAGE:
The practice has a fully equipped operating theatre (day surgery); there is an anaesthetist in attendance to look after sedation (meaning that the patient is conscious but feels no pain). The team consists of a surgeon, an anaesthetist, two trained nurses and a scrub nurse. The techniques used in the surgical procedure itself make it as non-invasive as possible. The procedure consists of making a small hole in the relevant part of the mouth (using special, certified equipment) for the screw/implant to be inserted into the bone. This is done with a suitable tool. No scalpels are used, and recovery times are very short.

POST-OPERATIVE STAGE:
As soon as the procedure is finished the implants are inserted as required and the temporary crown is prepared and attached, so that the patient can resume his usual social life straight away.
